In the Loire Valley, legendary wines like Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé formerly drew visitors from all over the globe. That has all dordle changed. Glamping in tree huts is a new addition to the area's offerings, though.

LVL is a one-hour train trip from Paris and provides a unique experience in a 740-acre woodland dotted with spectacular contemporary sculptures, making it the perfect place to relax your well-fed, regal history-saturated body.

LVL was the brainchild of Anne-Caroline Frey, a former Paris art dealer who wanted to create an atmosphere that incorporated art and nature. It opened in July 2020, just as COVID-19 was soaring. With floor-to-ceiling windows that allow guests to see the surrounding landscape, each of the lodge's 18 tree huts is adorned by a different modern artist.

Each tree home features an outside patio with a hot tub and even a sauna, making it the perfect place to unwind. Each morning, a huge wicker basket containing breakfast is deposited at the foot of the stairwell. A simple pull of the rope will elevate the basket, allowing you to appreciate a cup of coffee or croissant outside in the fresh air.

Tree house guests may ride a bicycle to and from their tree home to and from the property's trails. Many seats and chairs are strategically placed around the park so visitors may sit and observe the area's abundant wildlife, which includes birds, owls, deer, and the odd wild boar. You'll also find vegetable and flower gardens, a glass-enclosed "bee house" where you can watch the bees manufacture honey, woodland swimming, and an opera singer who can perform arias in the forest for your enjoyment.

A reception room; an art store; a bar; and a restaurant that serves lunch and supper three evenings a week are some of the features of the main lodge that Frey preserved while gutting the inside of the centuries-old property. After a long day of seeing the local towns, chateaus, and vineyards, guests may cool down in the pleasant pool just outside the main lodge.

As an added bonus, visitors may enjoy thoughtful touches like eco-friendly Aesop products, diverse literature on trees, and even walkie-talkies for nocturnal communication. We even have a tree home with a barbie-legs light bulb to showcase the creative side of the property.

As a whole, Loire Valley Lodges offers a contemporary touch with creature amenities to nature enthusiasts in an area that feeds on history. The 200-year-old trees here are a piece of history.
