I will be talking about something that will literally blow your mind and could explain why all of us don't have any motivation during quarantine and lockdown i will also explain two simple ways you can overcome this problem and have more thesis writing help motivation but before that be sure to comment down below if you prefer physical classes or online classes I’m really curious about this and also did lockdown.

Motivate you or demotivate you I’d love to chat with you in the comments section below let's get to it in 1998 two scientists named Claudia m Mueller and carol s dweck conducted six studies with 412 5th graders the children were given two tasks and the first task was very easy and regardless of their result the children were told that they did extremely well the catch one group of children were told that they did well because of their ability meaning they were told that they were talented gifted smart while another group was praised on their efforts not their ability meaning they were told things like you are so hard working and your efforts paid off after the first task the children are now given a second.

Task they were given three puzzles with three different difficulty levels easy medium and hard and the results were very interesting you see the first group of children that were told they did well because they were smart spent most of their time doing the easy puzzles in fact they didn't even want to try or do the medium and hard puzzles overall these kids had a low level of motivation and just didn't find the challenge fun at all on the other hand the second group of children that were told they did well because of their efforts and not because they were smart spent most of their time doing the hard puzzles overall these group of children had a higher level of motivation hence they were willing to challenge themselves and even found this whole task.

Fun this is the study of the locus of control which is the degree to which you believe you have control over your life the first group of children that were told they were smart gifted and talented had an external locus of control they believed that their successes and failures are due to luck and fate and not something that they can control and when they failed they just said things like i'm not smart enough or the puzzle is too hard these children with an external locus of control had less motivation to learn and do things after all why would they everything that happens is out of their control or so they believe on the other hand the second group of children that were told they did well because of their efforts had an internal locus of control they viewed their successes and failures as something that they can control they believed that it's because of their hard work that allowed them to do well in the puzzles and when they were struggling they said things like i just didn't work hard enough and had more motivation to continue trying so how exactly does this experiment relate to us right now you see the majority of us feel that it's because of the lockdown because we can't go out we can't see our friends classes are online that we can't study properly or we can't focus we can't get work done and what do these things have in common they are factors that we cannot control if you feel like you can't get work done because of the lockdown that means that you have an external locus of control all of us right now are blaming every outcome and everything on factors that we can't control why should i study i'm going to do bad anyways and i'm not smart enough i won't do well for this test i can't focus during online classes i just do better in physical classes i wanted to do well this year but because of the lockdown i don't feel like i can anymore therefore the key to motivation is having an internal locus of control you have to believe that it's up to you to be responsible for every outcome and thing that happens in your life tell yourself i am going to work hard i want to be successful therefore i have to put in the effort i want good results therefore i have to study you determine your own success people with an external locus of control will blame their failures on bad luck fate and unfortunate circumstances like a pandemic and if they do succeed they don't even appreciate the fact that it was because of their own efforts they will say things like oh i got good results because the test was easy therefore people with an internal locus of control appreciate and understand the quality and strength of their efforts hence they are more motivated to learn and do things so how do we adopt an internal locus of control know that you have a choice remind yourself this every single day it's my choice how i feel it's my choice how hard i'm going to work and it's my choice what i'm going to do next believe in yourself tell yourself that if i want to get this i will work hard to get this for me personally i am a slow learner when it comes to certain subjects and instead of telling myself i'm just not smart enough for this and giving up i tell myself i am going to work harder i will wake up earlier i will research study habits and find one that works for me i will make an effective study timetable and stick to it and if you don't do well in your exam that is okay you can control the amount of hard work you put in but you can't control your results the amount of hard work and effort that you put in says a lot more about your character than your actual grade another example is i've always wanted to start my own business and the fact that i know nothing literally nothing about business scares me and it stops me from trying many times but i told myself that it's because i don't know anything about business it's the exact reason why i should try i should try my best and gain some experience from it and that's how kesla was born we haven't launched yet but feel free to check out our website and our instagram another thing you can do is ask yourself why get a piece of paper and write down the numbers one to seven first write your ultimate goal let's just say i want to get good results why is that so because i want to go to a good university and make my parents proud and so on find out what you want and why you're fighting for it every single day then put in the effort to make that happen and know that nothing else can stop you but yourself that is how you stay motivated so we've come to the end of the video i hope you enjoyed it and it gave you a little bit more motivation to continue on during these hard times i actually have another video planned for this week however a lot of you messaged me and emailed me saying that you have lost a lot of your motivation to study during the lockdown and the postponement of your exams didn't help either and i just decided that you know what i'm just going to film videos that you want to see so feel free to leave any video suggestions down below i know a lot of you requested for time management as well.
