In the upcoming trilogy titled ‘Nagin’, directed by Vishal Furia, actress Shraddha Kapoor will take on the iconic character. Set on a lavish scale and big budget, the three-part film series blends Indian folklore with heavy VFX.

Riteish Deshmukh in ‘Chhatrapati Shivaji’ trilogy

Filmmaker Nagraj Manjule’s ambitious multilingual trilogy on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj that was expected to hit screens in 2021 was delayed due to the pandemic. The film on the Maratha ruler was set to go on floors with Riteish Deshmukh in the lead. “It is a project I am extremely passionate about and once everything falls into place, you will know,” said Nagraj in a statement.

‘Shaktimaan’ trilogy

After ruling the small screen, the Indian superhero ‘Shaktimaan’ is all set to take over the big screen in an upcoming trilogy that will be headlined by one of India’s major superstars. Actor-producer Mukesh Khanna who played the superhero in the original television series has joined forces with Sony Pictures International Productions to bring the action-packed trilogy to the big screen.

Aditya Dhar announced his plans to collaborate with Vicky Kaushal on an epic trilogy — ‘The Immortal Ashwatthama’. The director dropped the first poster of the film based on the character from the Mahabharata. Vicky even bulked up for the film that was scheduled to go on floors this year but was reportedly put on the back burner, due to budget issues.

SS Rajamouli’s ‘Mahabharata’ trilogy

After the success of his ‘Bahubali franchise, SS Rajamouli shared his plans to recreate one of the country’s biggest epic tales — The Mahabharata. Opening up about his ambition to make a film trilogy, Rajamouli revealed that he wants to use the latest technology, VFX and graphics to bring a multi-lingual epic to the big screen with a perfect mix of Bollywood and South actors.
