On October 21, 2020, 3:05 pm, from Matthias Brückle-In a letter to the Path of Exile community, GGG founder Chris Wilson talked about the development of the action RPG league and the POE Currency problem. This is about tight schedules, feature creep, etc. It seems impossible to continue like this.

The road to exile is now chaotic. This does not mean that there are battles everywhere in Wraeclast, but the many mistakes and problems of Heist in the current league. The GGG developers have now acknowledged this as the studio owner Chris Wilson personally addressed the community.

The pandemic has led to two blockades in New Zealand, which also left a mark on the development of the path of exile-the heist was delayed for a week, but there was not enough time. Cooperation with international contacts is also more difficult. However, the so-called feature spread also caused problems in the development of the new league. The 13-week release cycle that has existed since the Talisman League is not particularly flexible when it comes to surprising development obstacles. Therefore, if a developer decides to devote more time to a certain aspect or surprisingly merge some content, it may cause unexpected stumbling blocks. An ambitious project with many features like Heist is a good example.

In order to avoid a different way of running the studio when the new expansion is released on December 3.13 and the league, the studio owner emphasized that the program will be different. As a three-month cycle experiment, the new update said: "It contains all the content that needs to be significantly expanded, nothing more." Chris Wilson himself will personally supervise the production process to avoid feature creep and unplanned workload.

In the best case, this method can ensure the punctual release in December, especially the healthy release of 3.13 "with a strong and stable launch, many game iterations and reliable functional tests". However, players must be prepared for the fact that the patch notes are much shorter, because developers will actually only focus on the largest construction sites and the most important issues.

The expansion itself will revolve around POE Orbs PS4, just like "Battle for Atlas" and "Conqueror of Atlas". Associated leagues will once again offer battles in game areas (e.g. Delirium, Metamorph, Blight) instead of additional areas (e.g. Incursion or Heist).
