In a statement, Jagex claims to have a "growing team " and "improved instruments", Jagex says it will no longer just be looking for sellers of OSRS gold gold or sources through RWT but as well buyers. The goal is to reduce the demand, and supply.

Jagex has announced that it will be sending "messages to those whom we've found engaging in"RWT" within "the next few hours". "For anyone who was involved, we'd like to emphasize that this is your sole and only warning," it added.

Other measures that developers will look at as punishments for RWT activities are expected to include wealth removal , which is basically taking away gains made by accounts of players on the server level, as well as possible bans.

RuneScape's PvP element, called"the Duel Arena, will also have stricter rules in place. Jagex states that the feature "has been a source of this destructive behavior", and that 38 per cent of the bans that have been issued for RWT activities up to now originate from this aspect to the gameplay. It says that already amounts around "thousands of bans per month".

So, the developer appears to be considering the nuclear option, saying "we're considering in the future to remove this Duel Arena out of RuneScape completely." In the meantime it will be implementing "some quick-term measures" to tidy up PvP "until our development teams are able to deliver an important update that completely takes over the Duel Arena next year."

There will be a cap for buy RS gold the quantity of GP or gold points, players can stake on games inside the Duel Arena. Participants will be able wager "no greater than fifty million GP for each duel". Further measures have not been defined yet.
