The Open Group Architectural Framework, also known as TOGAF, is a recognized framework for corporate architecture. It provides a set of guidelines and best practices for how businesses can more accurately describe the "architecture" of their current organizational structure, how it needs to change, and how the transition from A to B can happen as fast and affordably as possible.

The framework provides direction on how a company might develop, understand, examine, and employ various components of a single strategy. This facilitates easy communication between departments and lowers the probability of costly errors, together with carefully defined EA language.
