A Comprehensive Overview

We started the interview by asking, “Explain your background and your Company’s in detail.”

Hannes Grossen replied, “I completed a 4-year apprenticeship as a design constructor in metal constructions. After that, I did my vocational baccalaureate. There I also started working as a limousine driver to earn some extra money. I still drive passengers around from time to time.

In recent years, however, I have focused more on construction at “WETTER”. I have gained a lot of valuable experience in facade construction and steel construction.

Last year, I was able to take over the quality management department at “WETTER”.

“WETTER” consists of several companies in the fields of real estate, industrial architecture, general construction, steel and hall construction and refurbishment. Over the last 78 years, the traditional company has developed from a one-man operation to a company with around 150 employees.”

Your Answer: Determined

Charting the Path Forward

The Worlds Times: What are your goals?

Hannes Grossen replied, “One of my personal goals is to constantly develop myself further, both professionally and personally. Because standing still is death.

There have been many changes at “WETTER” in recent years. Change usually brings unrest. Now it’s important to focus on our own strengths and achieve certain calmness.

In my new role as Quality Manager, my top priority is to reduce the cost of errors. There are too many mistakes that happen again and again, but which could be easily avoided.”

A Closer Look with Hannes Grossen

The Worlds Times: What do you feel is the biggest strength of “WETTER” right now?

Hannes Grossen replied, “At “WETTER” we always find a solution. We support each other, can trust each other, and have a “can-do” mentality. This has already helped us to make decisive progress on several difficult construction projects.

We are also known for our buildings in the high mountains of Switzerland.”

Choosing WETTER

The Worlds Times: Why did you start at “WETTER”?

Hannes Grossen replied, “I started at “WETTER” because it is a national leader in steel construction. If you want to develop further, you are always supported. Nevertheless, “WETTER” is a family-run company with a very pleasant working atmosphere, where people like to sit together after work and sometimes even have a beer together.”

Navigating Leadership Challenges

The Worlds Times: What have been the biggest challenges you’ve had to overcome during the journey of your leadership

Hannes Grossen replied, “I think it’s important to communicate well. Decisions or instructions must always be communicated clearly. You must be credible and trustworthy; otherwise you will lose your employees very quickly.

When communicating, it is also very important to find the right time, not too early, but not too late either. Another factor is the target group. It must be carefully selected and provided with the right information.”

The Worlds Times: What are the key values which helped you to overcome the challenges in your path? Tell us something about your memorable incident in your leadership?

Hannes Grossen replied, “Determination and adaptability.

Sometimes you are faced with seemingly hopeless challenges. Not giving up and always looking for new ways is a decisive factor in overcoming such challenges.

You also learn a lot from it for the future, experiences that make you stronger.”

Embracing WETTER’s Timeless Commitment

The Worlds Times: What do you value the most about “WETTER” vision?

Hannes Grossen replied, “To be a safe and trustworthy partner for customers and employees for more than 75 years and to remain so for the next 75 years.”

Setting Apart from the Competition

The Worlds Times: What are the strategies of “WETTER” and how do you stand unique from your competitors?

Hannes Grossen replied, “I can only say this much: we know what we are doing, and we are doing it while others are talking!

A lot is being done internally to adapt the process to today’s way of working. It’s about minimizing unnecessary costs, shortening processes in planning and production, and reducing idle times. All this is also done with the aim of reducing our environmental impact and protecting our natural environment.”

Vision for the Future

The Worlds Times: How do you see the company changing in two years, and how do you see yourself creating that change

Hannes Grossen replied, “In two years, we will have an adapted process flow that is more economical, more environmentally friendly, and more comfortable for employees.

On the way there, the focus is on involving employees. Only together can we adjust the process that will ultimately help us progress. Because the employees know their respective work steps best and can make a decisive contribution to their improvement.”

Delivering Unmatched Value

Lastly we asked, “What benefits are your clients getting from “WETTER” in this competitive world?

Our customers can count on “WETTER” as a reliable partner. Thanks to years of experience in the construction industry, we have been able to build up an enormous knowledge that benefits our customers.
